I use a puppet pig, and sing this song and feed him. There are echoes throughout the song, and Chancho notices which children manage to sing the echoes. Apologies for the quality of my singing and the recording - I'm no singer, it&'s just to get the idea accross.

Present how to tell the time, use verbs to give information about daily habits, revise regular verbs and study stem changing verbs.

Learning adjectives and making them agree with the nouns they describe. Making descriptive sentences about hotels and houses. Making and answering questions about a place to create narratives.

Study and test the verb estar for location, study words to say what there is in a place through a pelmanism game, then write an e.mail home from holiday saying what the place is like.

An early lesson, looking at subject pronouns, the verb ser, asking about jobs, talking about family using simple numbers for most of the answers. Gets them talking Spanish straight away.

Words in Spanish that fit to the tunes 'When Santa got stuck up the chimney' and 'Jingle bells'. Some changes had to be made to make them fit better, so the translations are there too. I cut up the lines in one of the versions - Spanish usually - for learners to try to match to the translations. Brave singing at the end!

A series of songs and activities I used to introduce staff to speaking Spanish, then recorded with a friend (Hannah MacDonald thankyou, you are a star!). Bracelets - inspired by another TES contributor who suggests puttin 2 sheets together and laminating them so they are laminated on one side, then putting a strip of double sided tape down one side before cutting them into bracelets. Also stickers and certificates to make great and cheap Spanish rewards.

I present the shapes and each child should draw the relevant shape next to the word on their sheet. Learners then give each other instructions using some Spanish to build the given shape with the material given (playdough etc.)

A simple book that I read to a puppet, then the children can read to a soft toy. A pleasant break.

I took in lots of empty boxes and the children took turns to see who could make the highest present tower in a minute. The worksheet is colouring words and pictures of the game.

To the tune of 'Here we go round the mulberry bush' a simple song to learn the word draw and some shapes. There are some pictures for children to trace over with their fingers.

There are 3 games on the sheet. Game 1, each child chooses 4 items of clothing from the illustrated vocab given, and writes them in game 1 column. Then the first learners to tick off their 4 items are the winners.

Print this onto card, and the children cut card flaps to stick over the pictures. Then children play 'reading to baby' as they look for the hidden items.
